One of a pair of white kid dress slippers. There is no perceptible difference between the slippers in terms of which might belong on the left or right foot. This is consistent with the time period, which was before the advent of left and right shoe forms. Accompanying tag reads "Hope & Heath Ladies Shoe Makers No. 150 MLNORIES, LONDON." Related documentation describes slippers as having been "worn by Eliza Witt to a dance in 1850." Stockings worn with these shoes are also in the collection.
