Framed arrangement of two black and white photographs, a title, and a classroom layout, put together by Charles G. Fairbanks on an unknown date. Frame is rectangular and black. Descriptions of the various elements in the arrangement are as follows:
Upper Left Corner: Black and white photograph of the High Street School House building. Hudson High School was located in the northwest corner of the second story. (There were three additional classrooms in the building holding the lower grades.) This image was probably taken in 1879. The photographer's name is unknown. The building is located at 30 High Street and as of this writing (April 2011), is the home of the Hudson Animal Hospital.
Upper Right Corner: Black and white photograph of Hudson High School Class of 1879, taken in front of the High Street School House. Names of individuals in photo are:
Frank T. Beede, Principal
Miss F. C. Foote, Assistant
Middle: Label with text "Hudson High School" and "He Conquers Who Endures" -- the Class of 1879's motto. This was probably cut out of the front page of the Hudson High School Graduation Program from that year. Through at least the 1950s, it was the custom for each Hudson High School Class to come up with its own motto.
Bottom Half: This is the layout of the Hudson High School classroom, which was located in the High Street School House until 1882. The High School was located in a classroom on the second story in the northwest corner of the building. The building had three classrooms housing the lower grades. According to a document taped to the back of the frame holding this image, "the plan of the school room and its occupants was made by Winthrop R. Kendall, in November, 1877, upon the eve of his departure for the West. He was a member of the class of 1879, but did not return to graduate with it." The names and other details found in this image are as follows:

[The teacher's desk is also found in the middle of this row and appears to be on a dais. The names "Mr. F.T. Beede, Mr. C.E. Swett, Miss M.L. Manning" also appear on the desk.] A small rectangle to the far right is labeled "radiator."
